Taravo — Upper Taravo (Bains de Guitera to D26 bridge west of Olivese)

Classe III-IV (V). Put in at the first bridge south on the D757 from Bains de Guitera (near Zicavo) for 7 km of quality granite creeking through the 'red gorges'. Continuous grade 3-4 enlivened by trickier falls, with the crux passages around grade 5 at higher water. The upper gorges want roughly 4-8 cumecs; the rest of the run tolerates a wider range. Take out at the D26 bridge west of Olivese. Season: March-May Gauge reference: Hydro station 'Taravo a Guitera-les-Bains' (corse.eaufrance.fr); first gorges best ~4-8 m3/s
