About
Starts on the Tsomo; meets the Great Kei after 9km. The Kubusi enters from the right ~20km downstream. Remainder to the N2 is covered as a separate section. At medium levels the opening kilometres hold several major rapids, including a messy waterfall — scout. Sandy beaches give good overnight camps. River picks up again shortly before the Kei confluence. The Kei stretch itself lacks large rapids but has good play. The Tsomo contributes most of the Kei's flow — gauge water levels from the blocks below the bridge.

Take-out
First railway bridge, before N2 bridge. Leave car at Ultra City on N2. At end of trip, walk up to Ultra City and take car down to railway bridge
