Wilge River – Verena bridge to Loskop Dam

Long run, first half on the Wilge, second on the Olifants — confluence roughly in the middle. Continuous easy rapids with a few more serious drops you can run at your discretion. Doable in a day at decent levels; two days suits it better. First few km after put-in are flat, then the river enters a gorge with cliffs to the water. Down to the confluence is class 2-3 with plenty of channels and overhanging trees. On the Olifants gradient picks up slightly. A small waterfall can be run — line is not easy. Rapids become continuous at higher water. Very isolated. Watch for hippos on the last section — they live in Loskop Dam but move upstream at times.
