About
Classe III-IV. The classic Têt: pink-marble mini-gorges from below Villefranche-de-Conflent (put in under the railway bridge downstream of the station) through Ria-Sirach to the slalom basin at Prades. Very popular and much more accessible than the harder Rodès gorges downstream, with interesting class III-IV passages that link up nicely. Intimate at low-to-medium levels and superb when the water comes up. Take out at the Prades slalom basin; watch for weirs and low bridges through the villages. Season: April-June snowmelt; storm rises Gauge reference: Snowmelt-driven; check levels at Villefranche before launching. Prades slalom basin usable at most levels.
