About
The hardest section above Hartebeespoort Dam, 7km long with tight, tricky rapids that are hard on fibreglass boats at low water and become genuinely interesting at higher levels. The key rapid is the Confluence, roughly 3km in and just upstream of the Jukskei–Crocodile junction: about 500m of drops and turns, runnable in the middle or on the right. To portage, exit left at the big rock and follow the path downstream. A broken K1 lodged in a tree on the left bank marks the take-out. Permission is required at the entrance to Rhenosterspruit Reserve.
