Biaysse — Pont des Oules to Freissinières (upper) / Freissinières to Pallon (lower)

Classe IV (V) upper; II-III (III+) lower. The torrent of the hanging Freissinières valley, dropping from the Dormillouse cascades to the Durance at Pallon. The 9 km upper section (Pont des Oules to Freissinières) is narrow, technical class IV(5) with numerous small weirs and S-bends - allow up to 4 h first time for scouting. Below Freissinières the river relaxes to a pretty 2 km class II-III(3+) beginner run to the Pallon campsite. Crystal-clear oxygen-rich water; watch for wood in the narrow upper channel. Season: June-July snowmelt
