About
Classe IV-V (Seuil du Crouzoulous V). One of the mythic hard classics of the Cévennes: the Grandes Gorges of the Dourbie between Dourbies village and Saint-Jean-du-Bruel are sustained class IV-IV+ granite boulder gardens in a deep, semi-remote gorge, with the Seuil du Crouzoulous rated class V. Scouting recommended throughout; historically run in one long day including the Valgarnide gorge. Reserved for solid class IV+ crews — the beauty of the rapids and landscape is why it ranks among the great Cévenol runs. Season: Spring snowmelt + rain (March–May); very committing at high water Gauge reference: eauxvives.org Dourbie levels (station towards Nant/Gardiès); needs spring water in the upper basin
