Tavignano — Lower gorge (Chez Milou camping to N200 bridge near Faio / Pont de Piedicorte)

Classe III-IV (IV+). The best of the lower Tavignano: the gorge north-west of the hamlet of Faio near Pont de Piedicorte, put in at the riverside camping (Chez Milou) off the N200 and take out at the N200 bridge. Mostly read-and-run grade 3-4 culminating in a 400 m gorge (grade 4) where swimming would be very bad news; it can be portaged on the left bank starting 400 m before the entrance. Access at the bottom end is easiest through an olive grove upstream of the gorge. Season: March-May
