About
Classe II. The 'sporty' rental run of the Gorges de l'Hérault: 12 km from the Moulin Bertrand area near Causse-de-la-Selle down turquoise water between limestone cliffs to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and the 11th-century Pont du Diable. A dozen straightforward class II rapids and small weir chutes separate long, deep pools ideal for swimming. Hugely popular in summer (UNESCO site); a shorter 4 km family float covers just the Saint-Guilhem → Pont du Diable finale. Beware the weirs at higher spring flows. Season: April–October; karst-fed base flow keeps it floatable all summer Gauge reference: Vigicrues 'Hérault à Laroque'; rental bases operate roughly April–October
