Classe II-III (III+ at Rabioux). The classic big-volume warm-up run of the Southern Alps: wide, fast alpine water with long bouncy wave trains and few obstacles. The crux is the Rabioux rapid/wave at Châteauroux-les-Alpes (~km 7), a famous freestyle playspot that has hosted international competitions; the Embrun wave sits near the take-out. Ideal introduction to volume paddling before harder runs; rafts and kayak schools everywhere in summer.
