About
A pleasant, accessible 10km pool-drop run popular with kayakers and K1 paddlers. Put-in is upstream of the small bridge at the Lundy's Hill store turn-off on the R617 between Boston and Bulwer; take-out is 5km down a dirt road (turn-off 2km from Lundy's Hill on the R617) where the road meets the river at a sharp right bend, with the road on the left bank. All rapids are runnable in a K1 — easier than the section below Hella-Hella — and flat stretches are short. One of the better play sections in Natal, with waves and holes at all levels. At flood, a rapid around halfway produces huge perfect waves and holes, and a wave/hole forms at the last rapid before take-out at most levels, but surf spots occur throughout. A natural weir near the end is runnable at most levels but must be scouted.
