About
Classe II-III. The Béarn classic: 21 km of playful class II-III on a river about ten metres wide, with well-marked wave-train rapids separated by flats of varying length. Put in on the pebble beach river-right below the Navarrenx bridge, take out at the Sauveterre campsite. No major hazards - eauxvives.org describes it as suitable both for first whitewater outings at low water and for experienced paddlers wanting play waves at higher flows. Season: Year-round except late-summer low water Gauge reference: Vigicrues 'Gave d'Oloron à Escos'; works year-round, lacks water end of summer.
