About
Small, steep, confined tributary of the Umkomaas - only runs after good rain. ~5 km on the Ngudwini, then a further 5 km on the Umkomaas to the Hella-Hella bridge take-out. When the Ngudwini has water, the Umkomaas is usually also running high. Hazards: - Natural weir shortly after the confluence: scout for a wide keeper hole at its base. - Siphons and undercuts throughout - events unfold quickly. - Slide/waterfall develops strong suckback at high levels - portage then.

Put-in
Lowlevel bridge. Take turnoff going to Nature Reserve on right, approximately 2km from Hella-Hella bridge
