About
Classe III (IV). Granite gorge finale of the Cère below the Saint-Étienne-Cantalès dam chain: sustained class III boulder rapids with class IV moments at good flow, past the pont de Camps and out of the gorges to Port de Gagnac near the Dordogne confluence. Like most Cère whitewater it lives on hydroelectric turbining — the eauxvives topo warns of a jumpable weir at the gorge entrance (middle-left only; never right, concrete slab). Wild, wooded and little-frequented. Season: On EDF turbining from the Nèpes/Brugale plants or high natural water — irregular; check before driving Gauge reference: EDF turbining at Nèpes (Laval-de-Cère); eauxvives.org Cère level page
