Short run with a major mandatory feature. Several rapids at the start, then a weir, then immediately below it a broken ~25m waterfall (Dante Falls) - portage left. Below the falls a deep gorge holds class 2-3 rapids. The Elands joins the Crocodile ~1km below Montrose. To reach Montrose take-out you must paddle upstream through flat pools that hold hippos and portage two small waterfalls. Short alternative: put-in bridge to the weir, then 300m hike up a track to the N4.
