About

7km from the low-level bridge put-in. Continuous rapids and numerous playspots. Easy access - the N1 runs alongside. Steep overgrown banks and scarce flat pools mean long swims. Rapids are challenging without being scary; at high flows they become intimidating - the rapid alongside the resort is notorious for swims. Weir halfway down: portage, especially at high water. Catchment is very small. Often paddled in rain, hail or snow with snow-capped peaks nearby - proper waterproof cold-weather gear is essential.

Access

Put-in

1) Below new tunnel at parking place. Put in at low-level bridge. 2) Du Toitskloof resort (support the restaurant/bar after trip)

Take-out

Before the river disappears between the trees. Leave vehicle at first gate from put-in next to road (N1)
