About
Classe III (IV). The 'forgotten gorges' of the lower Fier below Lovagny (put in downstream of the unrunnable tourist Gorges du Fier), a long committing day through remote wooded canyons towards the Val de Fier. Mostly class III with harder passages; the Barrage de Vallières and any hydro works must be portaged, and wood/siphon risk in the narrow limestone slots demands scouting. Escape options are limited once in the gorges — treat it as an expedition-style run.
