Classe III (IV). Granite-gorge classic of the mid-Ardèche plateau: below the Chervil dam the Eyrieux alternates pool-drop class III rapids and slides with calmer sections through magnificent boulder gardens, a few IV moves at higher water. One of the more reliable of the Ardèche rain rivers thanks to its large upstream basin around Le Cheylard. Take out at Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut. Season: Autumn and spring (rain-fed, some snowmelt March–April) Gauge reference: Station 'Eyrieux à Beauchastel': ~20 m³/s minimum, 30 m³/s good
