About
Steep, rocky stretch where several rapids lose serious height in a short distance. Low water is rocky and kayak-only; higher levels open it up to wildwater racers. Suits paddlers with some experience at all levels. Watch: steep rapid below the train bridge always has a sticky hole somewhere — scout. Next steep rapid develops bad holes at high levels — scout and consider portage. Near the end, after a sharp left-then-right bend, a technical class 4 demands precise lines. Pinning risk at low water, bad holes when high.
