Classe II-III. The approach course to Brittany's most famous whitewater: continuous class II-III granite rapids through wooded, phone-signal-free countryside between Le Faouët and the D790 bridge at La Loge Coucou. A staple for Breton clubs building toward the Roches du Diable just downstream, and used by descent racers in training. Upstream, the short Haut Ellé adds two genuine class IV drops for experienced teams at good flows. Season: Autumn to early spring after rain; navigation restricted from the start of the fishing season (mid-March) Gauge reference: Ellé at Arzano (Hydroportail/Vigicrues); needs sustained Breton winter rain
