Classe II-III. The Aure valley classic and main commercial raft run of the 65: the first 2 km through Saint-Lary are the liveliest, especially at medium levels, before the river settles into fast class II with III moments down to Arreau. Several small weirs and at least one dam to identify and portage. Navigable virtually year-round thanks to the catchment, with the best sport during snowmelt or after rain. At higher water the waves near Arreau become good freestyle spots. Season: Year-round; best in spring snowmelt Gauge reference: Navigable year-round; watch snowmelt afternoons in May-June for best levels.
