About
The Krom joins the Elandspad to form the Molenaars. This 2.5km creek run is suited to reactive paddlers who can read water on the fly — it is fast, and when uncertain, boof. Access requires a hike: cross the usual Molenaars put-in bridge and follow the path left upstream, scanning for strainers. Two river ferries are needed to stay on the path. After the second ferry, the gradient steepens until the river begins to sieve through rocks; put in just below that point. Once flowing, there is no stopping until the confluence, which is why strainer checks during the hike up are essential. Take out at the low-level bridge (Molenaars put-in) or continue into the regular Molenaars run. Description courtesy of Scott Reinders.
