About
Narrow river, long flat pools, easy rapids. Year-round flow from Bon Accord Dam, peaks Jan-Feb. Most rapids runnable in K1 but tight turns are hard. Two bridges between put-in and take-out give extra access. Watch: strainers, weirs, remnants of low-level bridges (manageable at normal levels). Put-in to first bridge: 2-3 hrs (least eventful). First to second bridge: 3-4 hrs (best play). Second bridge to take-out: ~1 hr. Sits ~20km north of Pretoria, upstream of the dangerous city weirs - do not carry past the take-out.
