Séveraisse — La Chapelle-en-Valgaudémar → Saint-Firmin

Classe II-III (IV). Superb continuous glacial run down the wild Valgaudemar from the heart of the Écrins. Almost non-stop class II-III wave trains and small hydraulics at a sustained pace; starting higher at Le Bourg adds the class IV Casset rapid. Watch for trees and the odd protection works; take out at the Saint-Firmin bridge just upstream of a dam — do not pass it. Full Le Bourg → Saint-Firmin is about 19.5 km.
