About

A 9km run characterised by flat water, small rapids, several weirs, and low-level bridges. The largest rapid, Lanseria Falls, begins immediately after the put-in: a tricky lead-in ending in a drop, followed by a second drop after a long pool. The second drop is rocky and can be shot left of centre by competent K1-paddlers; at high levels a chicken run opens on the far right close to the bank. About 3km downstream, the first weir can be portaged left, with a shootable right-hand chicken run at high levels. A low-level bridge 1km beyond it can be portaged via the midstream island or shot on the far right at high water. A broken weir before Friday's Weir can be shot on the extreme left under the trees at most levels. Friday's Weir, roughly 1km before the take-out, is best portaged on the right, or crossed over the dry middle chute at low flows. It is shootable on the extreme right by entering at a 45-degree angle from right to left — the weir has broken boats in the past. The far left chute is also an option for kayakers or bold K1-paddlers.
