About
Classe II-III. A gem of the Bauges regional park: clear-water class II-III through wild wooded gorges beneath the limestone Tours Saint-Jacques, passing the Prérouge cave spring. One of the last unregulated rivers of the northern Alps, so it only runs on natural flow. Mandatory egress river-right at the Pont de Banges — the section below towards the Pont de l'Abîme is harder and access-restricted. Watch for wood in the narrow passages.
