Classe III (IV, portage barrage de Neyrac). The whitewater upper Ardèche in its young basalt/granite bed: a class III rapid under the bridge 500 m in, then II–II+ down to the Neyrac weir (portage right bank) followed by a class IV rapid and steeper bedrock drops to the Fontaulière confluence at Pont-de-Labeaume. Continuous, playful and scenic; home water of the Haute Vallée de l'Ardèche club. Needs rain — dies quickly after the flood peak. Season: Autumn–spring after Cévenol rain; snowmelt bonus March–April Gauge reference: Station 'Ardèche à Meyras' (eauxvives.org level page); more water makes the bedrock ramps friendlier
