This final 30km stretch of the Fish carries far less water than the upper sections, as most flow from Grassridge Dam is diverted to the Little Fish and further reduced by farmers along the way. A paddleable level is still maintained year-round. The Fish River Sun Hotel serves as a convenient overnight stop for seconds. The section is most enjoyable during the rainy season from November to May.
