About
Classe IV-V (continuous). Glacier-fed sprint from Pelvoux to Vallouise: about 20 minutes of violently continuous class IV-V with tiny eddies and almost no recovery pools. Being fed by the Glacier Blanc/Pelvoux melt, it visibly rises through the afternoon - locals rate it IV+ in the morning and V in the evening. MANDATORY take-out at the signed egress above the lethal dam at the edge of Vallouise. Expert paddlers only; site of the annual Gyr'Olympiades extreme race. Season: June-July glacial melt; grade rises through the day - IV+ in the morning, V after ~18:00 on the afternoon melt peak
