About

Classe II. The Haut-Languedoc classic: from the Tarassac base (Jaur confluence, Mons-la-Trivalle) the Orb cuts narrow gorges through the Caroux foothills to the Mediterranean village of Roquebrun. Class II throughout — the Moulin rapid below Tarassac bridge is the highlight — with two submersible footbridges (Drouille and one lower down) to shoot or portage depending on level. Reliable warm-water paddling with vineyards and swimming beaches; the 10 km Vieussan → Roquebrun core is the 'gorge' portion. Season: Year-round for touring; 3–4 m³/s summer minimum, 15–20 m³/s makes it properly fun (spring) Gauge reference: Vigicrues 'Orb à Vieussan'; base at Tarassac (Canoë Tarassac) runs all season
