About
A 70 km flatwater trip of 2 to 4 days, uneventful and less scenic than most other Orange River sections, with farm development along the banks reducing the sense of wilderness. The one hazard is a high weir roughly halfway down — many metres high and must be portaged. Its flat character makes it useful for touring kayak and K1 paddlers covering long distances. Flow is controlled by Vanderkloof Dam and Bloemhof Dam.
