About
Classe I (small weir shoots). The most popular canoe river within easy reach of Paris: a clear, fast-flowing chalk stream through the Vexin from Bray-et-Lû to Gasny and on toward Monet's Giverny near the Seine confluence. Class I with small weir chutes that give beginners a first taste of moving water; longer options start upstream at Dangu (up to 27 km total). Gasny also has a modest artificial slalom basin used by local clubs. Included as an honestly-graded but genuinely major touring run. Season: Year-round (spring-fed chalk stream with stable flows); rental season April–October
