Gave d'Aspe — Bedous - Escot (Gorges de Sarrance)
Gave d'Aspe · Pyrénées-Atlantiques (64), Pyrénées
Grade
III
Type
gorge
About
Classe III (IV). After the open Bedous plain the Aspe narrows again into the Sarrance gorges, giving a scenic class III run with harder moments, finishing near the Escot railway bridge. Pleasant limestone gorge scenery with the N134 close by for access and scouting. Weirs associated with hydro diversions need care - check the current state locally, as works and floods alter them. A logical continuation for teams that found Etsaut-Bedous comfortable. Season: October-June with rain/snowmelt Gauge reference: Same references as the upper run: Urdos/Oloron gauges via eauxvives.org levels page.
