Gave d'Ossau — Laruns - Lac de Castet

Classe II (III). Friendly upper-valley run used by raft and canoe-raft schools as the Ossau initiation trip, from Laruns down the flat-bottomed valley to the take-out at the Lac de Castet leisure area. Mountain water winding between granite boulders, class II with occasional III at melt levels. Watch for fencing and small weirs near villages. A good warm-up before the harder gorges downstream. Season: April-July snowmelt; spring raft season Gauge reference: Spring snowmelt gives best levels; raft base at Laruns operates April-July.
