Gyronde — Vallouise to L'Argentière-la-Bessée

Classe III (III+). Formed by the Gyr and Onde at Vallouise, the Gyronde gives a fast, friendly class III run down to the Durance at L'Argentière-la-Bessée with no single hard passage. Flow is controlled by an EDF intake, so it can be near-dry when the plant is taking the water - check it is spilling before committing. Put in below the Vallouise dam (do not approach it from upstream) and take out at the L'Argentière whitewater stadium. Season: May-July; only reliably navigable when the EDF intake dam below Vallouise is open or overspilling
