About
Classe II (III). Beautiful class II(III) whitewater in a wooded valley just outside Annecy, with small rapids following one another and strikingly coloured water. Put in river-right upstream of the new Dingy bridge on the D16. Best early in the year on rain/melt; at 30+ m³/s it becomes pushy high water. Take out at Pont de Brogny before the urbanised reach and, further downstream, the tourist Gorges du Fier (unrunnable). Season: Winter and especially spring for good levels; below 5 m³/s at Dingy not navigable, 10-30 m³/s medium Gauge reference: Hub'Eau/eaufrance station Le Fier à Dingy-Saint-Clair (min ~5 m³/s, 10-30 m³/s medium)
