Classe II-III (IV at Rapide du Casset). Fast, narrow glacier-fed river down the wild Valgaudemar valley: constant gradient, few eddies and continuous II-III wave trains and small holes, with the class IV Casset rapid as the single crux. Quick, cold navigation - the whole run goes in about 2 h. Take out at the Saint-Firmin bridge just upstream of a dam (do not pass it). Watch for wood and fences in the upper braids.
