About
Classe IV-VI. Steep granite bedrock beneath the Aiguilles de Bavella, put in from the D268 as high as flows and nerve allow (the Purcaraccia canyon joins from the north). Slides, falls and pool-drop ledges at grade 4-6 in gin-clear water, easing as the valley opens. Take out at the road bridge by the D268/D69/D119 junction; below there the river runs a pleasant grade 2-3 to the sea at Solenzara. Small catchment - needs recent rain on top of melt. Season: March-May after rain/snowmelt off the Bavella massif; short window Gauge reference: Visual from the D268 bridges
