Classe IV (V). The classic Vecchio run, putting in below Gustave Eiffel's 1893 railway viaduct (steep walk down from the N193 bend south of the bridge) and taking out at the D43 bridge near Noceta. Quality granite boulder rapids and bedrock drops at grade 4 with a couple of harder cruxes; watch for undercuts and the odd siphon typical of the Vecchio. Ends where the D43 crosses; below, the river continues at a similar standard to the Tavignano confluence. Season: March-May Gauge reference: Gauge at the D43 take-out bridge: ~155 cm good; below ~140 scrapy, above ~180 pushy/risky
