Buëch — Serres to Laragne-Montéglin
Buëch · Hautes-Alpes (05), Alpes du Sud
Grade
II
About
Classe II (III). Broad braided pre-alpine river between Serres and Laragne with easy class II water - but treat it with caution: the channels are narrow, shift constantly and are frequently blocked by fallen trees (strainers are the main hazard, and shallow braids may need walking even at ~50 m3/s at Serres). Better as a touring/training float at good water than a whitewater objective. Check for the Saint-Sauveur reservoir influence downstream toward Sisteron. Season: Spring snowmelt and after rains; often too shallow in summer (braided gravel bed) Gauge reference: Vigicrues/Hub'Eau 'Le Buëch à Serres'
