High up before any major tributaries — only worth paddling after solid rain. Continuous with small, easily runnable drops. Fast current keeps you working; proper eddies are few, leading to long stretches of constant manoeuvring. At higher levels some surf spots appear plus a few holes to avoid. Multiple put-in and take-out options along the road to Royal Natal National Park allow the trip to be shortened. Park entrance fee required.
