About
80km remote, big-volume, technical run. Grade 3-5. Major tributary of the Mzimvubu. Not dam-controlled. No permits. Opening section from N2 is mostly class 3 with hidden surprises at high levels. At Tina Falls (~halfway to the Mzimvubu confluence) the river enters a deep, isolated gorge with class 4-6 rapids — class 5 paddlers only. At the Mzimvubu confluence volume increases. Take out at Dikela shop or continue to the river mouth at Port St. Johns.
